Affiliate links are marked with a sponsored attribute and appear in clearly-labelled blocks, never buried inside editorial text. If a page has no affiliate block, it earns nothing, which is true of most of this site.
We don't accept payment for placement or coverage. If we say a trail is closed, a fee is $15, or a lot bans cars four days a week, that's because the agency says so — commercial considerations don't enter into it. The practical reason is self-interested as much as ethical: this site's entire value is that its facts are right.
