Uptown Sedona
The walkable tourist core. Great for an afternoon, not where you base yourself for hiking.
Details, fees & parking โFour areas, four completely different trips. Uptown is the walkable tourist core; West Sedona is where the trailhead roads start; the Village of Oak Creek is quieter, cheaper, close to the SR 179 trails โ and legally isn't in Sedona at all; Oak Creek Canyon is forested canyon country north of town, where West Fork and several creekside sites are currently closed. One warning: the Village of Oak Creek and Oak Creek Canyon are opposite sides of town, and booking the wrong one is a genuinely common mistake.
