Junipine Resort

Cool in summer Check canyon conditions

Forest and creek rather than red rock. Junipine's creekhouses sit in Oak Creek Canyon among sycamores and pines, with fireplaces and full kitchens โ€” a different Sedona entirely, and significantly cooler in summer.

About a mile from West Fork Trail and Slide Rock State Park.

Check current conditions before booking. Much of the canyon's recreation is closed, and the property sits below a burn scar with monsoon flood risk โ€” see below.

The canyon caveat

We found no evidence that Junipine or any other Oak Creek Canyon lodge has been forced to close โ€” none posted closure notices when we checked.

West Fork, several creekside recreation sites and Manzanita Campground remain closed under the current Oak Creek order, and the canyon sits below a fresh burn scar during monsoon season, when flash flooding is the active hazard.

So the honest advice is call the property before booking and ask directly about access and conditions. In a normal year this is one of the loveliest places to stay in the region โ€” and in October, with the maples turning, it's arguably the best.

Rates are dynamic; tiers reflect positioning, not a quoted rate.

Frequently asked questions

Is Junipine open?

We found no closure notice. West Fork and several creekside sites nearby are closed under the current Oak Creek order, so call the property directly about access and conditions.

Does it have red rock views?

No โ€” it's a creek and forest setting in Oak Creek Canyon, which is a different landscape from Sedona's red rock. Cooler in summer, though.

How close is it to West Fork and Slide Rock?

About a mile from both. West Fork is currently closed under the Oak Creek order, and Slide Rock's swim area is separately closed through October 1.
