Uptown Sedona Parking

Free lots available Meters 9amโ€“6pm

There are free all-day lots in Uptown, and most visitors don't know it. Four city lots have no time limit at all: Jordan Road, the Red Rock News lot, the City lot, and the Fire Station lot. Four more are free with a 3-hour limit.

The metered spaces along Main Street (SR-89A) โ€” the ones directly in front of the shops โ€” are paid 9:00am to 6:00pm, seven days a week, and free outside those hours. The City sets the rate seasonally and posts it at the pay station, so we're not quoting a per-hour figure that would be wrong half the year.

The lots, by time limit

Free, no time limit: Lot 1 (Jordan Road โ€” also takes buses and RVs), Lot 2 (Red Rock News), Lot 5 (City lot), Lot 8 (Fire Station). Lots 2, 5 and 8 don't take RVs.

Free, 3-hour limit: Lot 3 (Sacajawea), Lot 4 (Matterhorn, until 5pm), Lot 6 (Wayside Chapel โ€” no RVs, and no public parking before noon on Sunday), Lot 7 (Sinagua, until 5pm, no RVs).

Lot 9 is bus and RV only.

If you're eating a leisurely dinner or spending the afternoon, the no-limit lots are the move. Jordan Road is the most flexible of them.

Meters, and what we can't tell you

Main Street metered spaces run on the PassportParking app (Zone 846) or the pay stations, with a small convenience fee on app payments. Enforcement is 9:00amโ€“6:00pm daily.

The City states the rate varies with seasonal visitation and is posted where you pay. So any site quoting you a firm dollars-per-hour figure for Uptown is either guessing or quoting a rate that was true in a different season. We'd rather point you at the pay station.

The new garage: a roughly 270-space public parking structure has been under construction in Uptown, with an anticipated opening in mid-2026 and a rate that had not been formally adopted as of the most recent public reporting โ€” figures in the $2.00โ€“$2.50 per hour range were discussed but not set. Check the City's Uptown parking page for current status before relying on it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there free parking in Uptown Sedona?

Yes. Four city lots are free with no time limit โ€” Jordan Road, Red Rock News, the City lot, and the Fire Station lot โ€” and four more are free with a 3-hour limit.

When do the Main Street meters run?

9:00am to 6:00pm, seven days a week. Outside those hours the metered spaces are free.

How much does metered parking cost?

The City sets the rate seasonally and posts it at the pay station and in the PassportParking app (Zone 846), so there's no single published figure to quote year-round.

Has the new parking garage opened?

It was anticipated to open around mid-2026 with roughly 270 spaces, but the rate hadn't been formally adopted as of the latest public reporting. Check the City's Uptown parking page for current status.

Can I park an RV in Uptown?

Lot 1 on Jordan Road and Lot 9 accommodate buses and RVs. Most of the other lots exclude them.
